Bài nghiên cứu tìm hiểu về tác động của phát triển ngân hàng trên quy mô nền kinh tế ngầm trong bối cảnh toàn cầu hóa giai đoạn 2009–2021 tại 34 quốc gia trên toàn thế giới. Bằng phương pháp hồi quy Bayesian và phương pháp GMM, kết quả cho thấy quy mô nền kinh tế ngầm có sự tương quan ngược chiều với toàn cầu hóa và nghịch biến với sự phát triển ngân hàng. Qua đó cho thấy, phát triển ngân hàng thật sự có ảnh hưởng tiêu cực đến quy mô nền kinh tế ngầm tại các quốc gia trong bối cảnh toàn cầu hóa hiện nay. Từ những phát hiện trên, bài báo đề xuất một số chính sách liên quan cho từng nhóm quốc gia.
