Abstract

The study investigates the impacts of public debt and human capital on the financial development in 27 Asian selected emerging countries from 2009 to 2019. Using the pooled ordinary least squares, fixed effect model, random effect model, and feasible generalized least squares technique, the results show that public debt and human capital have a positive impact on the financial development in Asia. In the context of using public debt investing on human capital in some countries, it is concluded that the impact of the interaction between public debt and human capital on the financial development cannot be found. However, the research also indicates that East Asian countries have the highest level of financial development in Asia.
