Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of digital leadership on organizational performance through the mediating role of technological and human capital in high-tech enterprises in Vietnam. Based on upper echelons theory and the resource-based view, this study uses purposive and snowball sampling methods to collect data from 205 business owners and senior managers, and analyzes the data using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS. The results show that digital leadership positively impacts technological and human capital, and these two resources also improve organizational performance. Notably, while existing studies on digital leadership in Vietnam emphasize the importance of various capabilities in translating leadership influence into organizational performance, this study shows that technological capital and human capital play a partial mediating role in the relationship between digital leadership and organizational performance. These results broaden the application of upper echelons theory and the resource-based view in the context of digital transformation in emerging economies, while highlighting the importance of investing in technology, human resources, and digital leadership capabilities to enhance sustainable competitive advantage.
