This paper focuses on finding out and measuring technical efficiency (TE), allocative efficiency (AE), and cost efficiency (CE) among the watermelon farming households in Can Tho City. Along with this, for the cross-sectional data obtained for the year 2014, the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approach is used to estimate the households technical, allocation and cost efficiency. Estimated values of efficiency are then regressed with producer-specific variables using TOBIT regression. The empirical results indicate that the surveyed watermelon farming households achieve high techical efficiency; low levels of allocative and cost efficiency, however, are recorded subject to limitations of employment of the input factors
