Kiểm chứng tác động của kiều hối tới tăng trưởng kinh tế Việt Nam dựa trên mô hình ARDL

Nghiên cứu thực hiện kiểm chứng tác động của dòng kiều hối tới tăng trưởng kinh tế tại Việt Nam. Thông qua việc sử dụng mô hình ARDL cho chuỗi dữ liệu theo quý trong giai đoạn 1996–2016, nghiên cứu tìm thấy mối quan hệ phi tuyến dạng chữ U ngược trong dài hạn giữa kiều hối và tăng trưởng kinh tế tại Việt Nam. Cụ thể, dòng kiều hối chảy vào ở một ngưỡng nhất định có thể kích thích tăng trưởng thông qua tăng cường vốn đầu tư và nhân lực, mở rộng hoạt động trung gian tài chính và thúc đẩy tiêu dùng. Tuy nhiên, nếu dòng kiều hối chảy vào vượt qua điểm ngưỡng đó, tác động trên sẽ chuyển hướng tiêu cực do có thể gây ra tâm lý ỷ lại và những hệ lụy của "căn bệnh Hà Lan". Ngoài ra, nghiên cứu không tìm thấy bằng chứng về vai trò xúc tác của phát triển tài chính trong mối quan hệ giữa kiều hối và tăng trưởng kinh tế tại Việt Nam.
