Nghiên cứu này kiểm định tác động của sự cảm nhận về sự hợp lý trong dự toán ngân sách và sự tham gia vào dự toán ngân sách đến kết quả công việc của các nhà quản trị ở các doanh nghiệp tại Việt Nam. Mô hình và giả thuyết nghiên cứu đã được kiểm định bằng Smart PLS3 với 337 mẫu khảo sát từ các nhà quản trị cấp trung và cấp cơ sở làm việc tại các doanh nghiệp tại Việt Nam. Kết quả cho thấy: (1) Cảm nhận về sự hợp lý (trong phân phối và trong quy trình) dự toán ngân sách có tác động dương đến mức độ tham gia của các nhà quản trị cấp trung và cấp cơ sở vào dự toán ngân sách; và (2) Mức độ tham gia vào dự toán ngân sách càng gia tăng dẫn đến sự gia tăng trong kết quả công việc. Kết quả nghiên cứu đem lại một số hàm ý lý thuyết và hàm ý quản lý cho các doanh nghiệp Việt Nam trong môi trường tham gia vào dự toán ngân sách.
