Việc ứng dụng PMKTĐG là xu hướng chủ yếu trong các doanh nghiệp vừa và nhỏ tại Việt Nam. Vì vậy, việc nghiên cứu cách thức và nhận diện các yếu tố để triển khai thành công quá trình này là điều cần thiết. Trên thế giới đã có nhiều nghiên cứu về quá trình ứng dụng công nghệ thông tin nói chung và kế toán nói riêng, Tuy nhiên, cần phải có 1 cách tiếp cận phù hợp với quy mô, đặc điểm ứng dụng phần mềm kế toán tại Việt Nam. Bài viết tổng quan các lý thuyết đã nghiên cứu liên quan để đề xuất mô hình tiếp cận theo mức độ phù hợp của PMKTĐG và các yếu tố đáp ứng để nghiên cứu và kiểm định tại Việt Nam.
