Viên mãn trong cuộc sống là mong muốn của mọi nhân viên, cũng là mối quan tâm của các nhà quản trị hướng tới sự phát triển bền vững. Tuy nhiên, mỗi người có cảm nhận khác nhau về giá trị và tầm quan trọng của công việc, cuộc sống, và sự viên mãn. Nghiên cứu này tìm hiểu ảnh hưởng của các loại giá trị cá nhân đến sự cân bằng giữa công việc và cuộc sống, từ đó tác động đến sự viên mãn. Với dữ liệu khảo sát từ 246 nhân viên ở Việt Nam, kết quả cho thấy những nhân viên đề cao giá trị về sự nâng cao bản thân sẽ đối mặt với những xung đột giữa công việc và gia đình, từ đó sẽ có cảm nhận chưa tốt về sự viên mãn trong cuộc sống. Ngược lại, giá trị về sự bảo tồn giúp gia tăng sự tương hợp, làm giảm xung đột giữa công việc và cuộc sống, và làm tăng sự viên mãn. Hai loại giá trị này có thể tồn tại đồng thời trong mỗi nhân viên. Do đó, các doanh nghiệp có thể vừa đề cao giá trị về sự bảo tồn, đồng thời đề cao giá trị về nâng cao bản thân, qua đó cải thiện sự viên mãn trong cuộc sống.
