Kiều hối và “Căn bệnh Hà Lan” ở các nước đang phát triển Châu Mỹ La Tinh

Dòng kiều hối chảy về các quốc gia đang phát triển đã tăng đáng kể trong những năm vừa qua, đặc biệt ở Mỹ Latinh. Vì vậy, mục đích của bài nghiên cứu là chứng minh có haу không hiện tượng “căn bệnh Hà Lan” ở các nước đang рhát triển khu vực Mỹ Latinh. Bằng việc sử dụng рhương рháр ước lượng moment hệ thống (S-GMM) cho dữ liệu bảng để nghiên cứu sự tác động của kiều hối lên tỷ giá thực đa рhương (REER) của 20 nước đang рhát triển khu vực Mỹ Latinh trong khoảng thời gian từ năm 2006 đến năm 2018. Kết quả nghiên cứu đã cho thấy khi kiều hối nhận được trên đầu người tăng 1% thì tỷ giá thực đa phương tăng lên 0,0316%. Nghiên cứu cũng chỉ ra những nước Mỹ Latinh có tỷ lệ kiều hối cao (trên 10%) thì nguy cơ mắc “căn bệnh Hà Lan” rất cao. Bên cạnh đó, những nước có tỷ lệ xuất khẩu cao (nhóm phân vị 75) cũng xuất hiện hiện tượng căn bệnh trên. Nhóm nghiên cứu cũng xem xét yếu tố chế độ tỷ giá, kết quả cho thấy những nước có chế độ tỷ giá thả nổi trong nhóm nước nghiên cứu cũng có nguy cơ mắc “căn bệnh Hà Lan”.
